Painting the Mona Lisa with MS Paint
Unrelated to Installation Art; I just wanted to show this really cool video of someone painting the Mona Lisa using MS Paint. It can be found here.
I think it's pretty awesome how someone can use the simplest (might I say hardest to use and worst) art application to create/imitate something considered to be a very great art piece, the Mona Lisa.

INSTALL ART!
I think installation art is using space in a new way to create an artwork that will draw the viewer into it.
First check out some "web installation art!"

Installation Art!
From wikipedia: Installation art uses sculptural materials and other media to modify the way we experience a particular space. Installation art is not necessarily confined to gallery spaces and can be any material intervention in everyday public or private spaces.
Installation art incorporates almost any media to create an experience in a particular environment. Materials used in contemporary installation art range from everyday and natural materials to new media such as video, sound, performance, computers and the internet. Some installations are site-specific in that they are designed to only exist in the space for which they were created.

INSTALLATION ART
I think installation art is any type of art that makes viewers perceive space in a different sense.
Here are some examples:
This is a playground designed by a Netherlands-based team called Carve.

This is the Google headquarters called the Googleplex.

This is a Wii ad put up all around the city called "Wii'il Remember" featuring some old school game characters made of post-it notes.
And this is the website of a big-scale installation artist:

Installation art
Google defines installation art as
-Refers to the hanging of ordinary objects on museum walls or the combining of found objects to create something completely new.
Wikie says
-Installation art is art that uses sculptural materials and other media to modify the way we experience a particular space.
"Just as the development of earth art and installation art stemmed from the idea of taking art out of the galleries, the basis of my involvement with public art is a continuation of wall drawings. "
-Sol LeWitt
